Mom's Beef Burgundy Brown 2 - 2 1/2 lbs cubed sirloin steak in 1/4 cup olive oil. Add 1/4 - 1/2 tsp garlic powder and 1 chopped onion. Stir and sauté 2 minutes. Add: 1/2 tsp white pepper 1 tsp salt 1 tsp dry beef boullion 1/2 - 1 tsp chicken boullion dash of thyme dash of oregano 1 tsp monosodium glutamate 1 tsp sugar 1 bay leaf Simmer a few minutes. Add 1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced and sautéed in 2 tbls butter. Add 1 cup Burgundy wine mixed with enough water to cover the meat in the pan Cover and bake at 400° for 1 hour. Continue cooking until meat is fork tender. Thicken sauce with 1 part flour to 2 parts water mixed well together. Serve over buttered noodles.
